Valencia rose grown by Rosalie Stafford, National City, Spring of 2009.  Plant was bought, Summer of 2008, at local Wal-Mart for half-price ($3.24) because it was doing poorly.  Most beautiful rose in the garden: my personal favorite!

Valencia is a beautiful buff, somewhat similar in color to Just Joey; however, Just Joey's coloration is tinged with pink, whereas Valencia is a rich buttery buff.

Rosalie Stafford uses no synthetic pesticides nor fertilizers in her gardens. Soil is extremely poor, a mixture of clay and sand. Amendments used consist of home-made compost, steer manure, and generously applied colonies of earthworms (from wormbeds in backyard).   Return to roses index.
