It is with regret that Web Mystery Magazine notes the end of an era: pulp historians Tom and Ginger Johnson are retiring from the publishing business.

Ginger Johnson gives a brief summary of their history:

"We started out in 1982. We ran a hobby fanzine called Echoes, for the pulp enthusiast. We printed articles, art, and ads for the first 100 issues, then changed the format to a newsletter, telling everyone about what new items were coming out and where.

"Then in 1995 we decided to start a line of fiction magazines. Among these were the titles Classic Pulp Fiction Stories, Double Danger Tales, Startling Stories (later retitled to Exciting UFO Stories and Alien Worlds ), Weird Stories and Detective Mystery Stories .

"DMS & Echoes were the last to go, and they were retired December 2004."

Thank you, Tom and Ginger, on behalf of all whose lives you enriched through your work."
